
On November 28, 1970 at Maple Leaf Gardens against the Detroit Red Wings, in his 20th NHL game, Darryl Sittler finally scored his first goal. He would go on to score 483 more regular season goals over his NHL career.
At 1:41 of the third period, Sittler put one past Detroit goalie Don McLeod with help from Mike Walton and Jim McKenny. Later in the period, he assisted on a Ron Ellis goal for a two point game. Toronto came out victorious with a 9-4 win.
This sparked a three game goal-scoring streak for Darryl. The following night at Boston Garden, he put one past Ed Johnston in a 4-2 loss. On December 2, he had his third career goal at 6:36 of the first. It held as the game winner in a 7-0 shutout win. Jacques Plante made 35 saves for the blank while Dave Keon led the way with a hat trick.
