Pictured is Jerry Korab on the front of his 1973-74 O-Pee-Chee hockey card. These were turbulent times for King Kong. He played the full 1972-73 NHL season with the Chicago Blackhawks before starting 1973-74 with the Vancouver Canucks. However, he lasted just 31 games with the Canucks before being sent to the Buffalo Sabres.

Korab played 975 regular season and 93 playoff games in the National Hockey League with the Blackhawks, Canucks, Sabres and Los Angeles Kings between 1970-71 and 1984-85. The defenseman’s best year offensively was 1974-75 when he contributed 56 points with the Sabres. His 184 penalty minutes that year placed him tied for eighth in the league with teammate Jim Schoenfeld.
