The first home of the Boston Bruins was the Boston Arena. The team played at this venue from their inaugural 1924-25 NHL season until the end of 1927-28. At that time, the Bruins moved into the newly completed Boston Garden.
The Boston Arena was opened in 1910 and is still open today, home to the Northeastern Huskies university hockey team. The venue was renamed the Matthews Arena in the early 1980’s. Seating capacity is just under 5,000.
The Bruins played at the Boston Garden until the 1995-96 season when they moved into the TD Garden. The Boston Garden had a capacity of 14,448 while the new TD Garden can fit 17,850.
