Bobby Clarke finished second in the race for the Art Ross Trophy in 1975-76, six points behind leader Guy Lafleur of the Montreal Canadiens. The captain of the Philadelphia Flyers scored 30 goals and added 89 assists. For the second year in a row, Clarke led the NHL in assists, recording 89 the year before, good enough for a first place tie with Bobby Orr.

For Lafleur, it was his first of three consecutive Art Ross Trophy wins. It was also his second of six consecutive seasons with at least 119 points. His career best came the following year when he led the league with 136.

In 1975-76, Guy finished second in goal scoring with 56, five behind Reggie Leach’s 61. There were six 50+ goal scorers that year. The others included Pierre Larouche, Jean Pronovost, Bill Barber and Danny Gare.

As for Clarke, he would never win an Art Ross Trophy but took home the Hart Trophy on three occasions, including 1975-76. The two-time Stanley Cup champion surpassed the 100 point plateau on three occasions. 1975-76 was his last.
