The Philadelphia Quakers played just a single season in the NHL, 1930-31. The team had been relocated from Pittsburgh where they were known as the Pirates. The Quakers won just four of 44 games in 1930-31, finishing dead last in the league.

Gerry Lowrey led the team with 27 points while Hib Milks was the team’s goal scoring leader with 17. The four wins by the Quakers were against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Montreal Maroons, along with a pair against the Detroit Falcons.

The Quakers were shutout in eight of their 44 games and had a 15 game losing streak. On New Year’s Day 1931 at Chicago Stadium, the Blackhawks scored ten on Philadelphia goalie Wilf Cude in a 10-3 win for the home team. Frank Ingram had a four goal game for Chicago.

Of course, NHL hockey returned to Philadelphia for the 1967-68 season. The Flyers were part of the 1967 NHL Expansion that doubled the league in size from six to 12 teams.
